Favorite Fall Fashion Trends
Posted by on
Well, dear readers, September is quickly approaching, and with it will likely come a little chill, a lot of love, and a beautiful new set of fashion trends. Since most fashion trends tend to extend throughout the abundant and varying lot of all things made by artists’ hands, we’ll focus on the jewels. It is our specialty after all.
We always prefer to practice being present, but just for fun let’s talk about a little bit of what’s to-come for the rest of this fine year.
Colors
This autumn brings pearlescent, glowing, soft yellows and greens, muted blushes and taupes, splashes of aqua and orange, and classic deep blues paired with soft purples. WOW. Talk about vibrancy and lushness in the way of jewelry trends!

The coming weeks will carry wispy, wintry colors - optimistic hues, if you will! Earth tones abound, but will include just a bit more brightness than usual. We can hardly wait to see how this transforms the fine world of gemstones. It sounds to us like Citrine, Aquamarine, Opal, Amethyst and Sapphire rule. Fortunately, we’re very familiar with and fond of this glorious set of gemstones. More on that next.

Gemstones
And here we are, arriving at our favorite topic - gemstones! Here’s a snapshot of some of the beauties mentioned above that you’ll start to see more of soon.
Citrine
A light greenish-yellow glassy quartz variety. It’s a happy stone with lots of bright energy.

Aquamarine
Rich in color - typically a greenish blue. In the 19th century green-tinted aquas were most popular. Today, sky-blue rules. This stone is excellent in aiding meditation, as it’s calming like the sea that shares its hue.

Opal
The GIA describes this breathtaking stone best: Fireworks. Jellyfish. Galaxies. Lightning. This gem displays a kaleidoscope of color and light. It’s inspiring and full of transformative properties.

Amethyst
A beautiful violet variety of quartz - one of the most commonly coveted gemstones in existence. Provides balance and calm. It’s an all-purpose, grounding stone, which explains why so many people are drawn to it!
Sapphire
Specifically blue sapphire - vivid and saturated, almost as if it’s lit from within! One of the most sacred of stones - its intuitive powers are strong, allowing mental clarity and lots of hope.
Materials
Loads of brass and bold gold are ahead! Although brass hasn’t always been viewed as “modern,” it’s making quite a comeback. It compliments natural, flowing, bohemian wear, so a definite good fit for the earthy colors we’ve touched on.
Gold is typically on trend, and rightfully so! It’s classic and adaptable. This year Yellow and Rose Gold lead the way - as they feel more solid and substantial than the lightness of White Gold. And since we’re all about making a statement these days, we’ve got to keep the gold going strong.
Styles
As always, lots of different styles will start appearing. Fashion week showcased interesting and striking wearables like chokers, breastplates, and sculptural jewelry. While some of this works primarily in the world of couture that most of us don’t ever encounter, we have noticed some more accessible patterns like geometric shapes, single earrings, mismatched stacked rings, and a bounty of beads and pearls.
We’re entering into an age of an “anything goes” mentality, which can only be fun and exciting, right?
Conclusion
Go BOLD. There will be no shortage of risk-taking this fall. So get on board! Our philosophy is that it’s always best to bare your soul via fashion - even if that means a little vulnerability. It can feel odd to wear a statement piece if you’re used to delicate, subtle gems. Try finishing out this year by listening to your intuition - wear what you feel - even if that means something totally different than you usually would. Fashion stems from the inside, which is one of the coolest things about it. It’s a form of expression just like any other, and we’ve got to let ourselves shine.
